220) LOVE APPLE SYRUP

LOVE APPLE SYRUP
TO MAKE LOVE APPLE JUICE,
LOVE APPLE ICE CANDIES
& LOVE APPLE SIP-UPS

Ingredients:

     1)    Fresh love apples (without the seeds) – 800 gm.

     2)    Sugar – 1½ kg.
     3)    Water – 500 ml.

To Make:

Pick or buy a kilo of fresh love apples (Rose Jamba). Wash nicely to get rid of the dried flower remnants and pluck off the woody green stems, if any. Split the fruit into halves with a knife and discard the seeds. Weigh and set aside 800 gm. of the cleaned fruit.

Use a juicer or a food processor to collect as much of the juice as possible. Use a clean, dry, cotton or muslin cloth to bundle up the fibrous paste and squeeze out all the juice.

Pour the juice into a 3 litre vessel. Tip in the sugar and the water. Set on high heat and stir till all the sugar is dissolved. Once it boils nicely, switch off the heat, cover with a lid and let cool naturally. When cool, gently transfer to clean, sun-dried, airtight bottles and keep in the refrigerator.

No artificial preservative or flavoring agent is required. This wonderful love apple syrup stays good for up to 6 months in the refrigerator but is generally finished off in days once you start on your first glass of tasty, delightful love apple juice.

To make love apple juice, mix one part of love apple syrup with seven parts of cold water (you can increase or decrease the quantity of the syrup to meet the desired sweetness) and enjoy.

To make love apple ice candies, mix one part of love apple syrup with five parts of water. Pour into ice candy molds, insert the stick and keep in the freezer till it gets frozen solid. Take out and enjoy. Kids and adults alike love love apple ice candies.

To make love apple sip-ups, mix one part of love apple syrup with five parts of water. Fill into food grade polypropylene tube pouches around 1½ inches wide and nine inches long. Seal the end and keep in the freezer till it freezes solidly. Bite off a hole at one end, suck up the juice as it melts and enjoy. Almost all kids and adults alike love love apple sip-ups.
