BABY POTATO FRIES
A SUPER DELICIOUS SNACK
A MUST-TRY-FOR-CERTAIN GOURMET RECIPE
Ingredients:
1) Baby potatoes (quail egg size) – 1 kg.
2) Red chili powder – 2 heaped tea spoons
3) Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
4) Asafoetida powder – 1 pinch.
5) Rice powder – 1 table spoon
6) Corn flour – 2 table spoons
7) Salt powder – 2 tea spoons
8) Cooking oil – to deep fry
To cook:
Wash the baby potatoes and put them in a pressure cooker. Pour enough water to immerse the potatoes. Cook till you hear the first whistle. Turn off the heat and allow to cool naturally. When cool, drain and gently skin the potatoes using your fingers. Rinse gently and drain. Transfer to a bowl and sprinkle salt powder, chili powder, turmeric powder and asafoetida powder. Gently mix and rub in with your fingers taking care not to mash the potatoes.
Now, sprinkle the rice powder and mix gently. Then, add the corn flour and mix again.
Heat up the cooking oil and deep fry until you feel the marinate forming a jacket for the potatoes. Lift out and drain the excess oil. Serve hot.
Your fried baby potatoes are such culinary delight. Anyone who eats them once gets to be a lifetime addict. Truly, a gourmet snack!!!
