38) CURD BHOJJO


CURD BHOJJO
A TASTY FRIED SNACK

Ingredients:

     1)    B.T rice (Bombay Terminus rice / fine raw rice) – 300 gm.
     2)    Urud dal (skinned black gram lentils) – 50 gm.
     3)    Coconut – ½
     4)    Cooked rice – 1 glass
     5)    Asafoetida powder – ½ teaspoon
     6)    Hot green chilies – 4 Nos.
     7)    Ginger – a 2 inch piece
     8)    Curd – 300 ml.
     9)    Tender curry leaves – 3 sprigs
     10)     Salt – 1 teaspoon
     11)     Oil – to deep fry

To Cook:

          Grate the coconut. Wash and drain the B.T. rice and the urud dal. Peel the ginger and chop into small pieces. Now put all the first ten ingredients into the food processor. Grind to fine paste.

          Set a wok on the stove and heat up the oil. Scoop up small portions of the batter with your fingers and deep fry till the bhojjo turns golden yellow. They should be crisp on the outside and nice and spongy on the inside. Your Curd Bhojjo is now ready to serve.
